2027 Committee Signups
It’s that time of year—committee signups for 2027 are now open! REALTOR® and Affiliate Members are invited to get involved, share their expertise, and make a real impact on the association and the community. Serving on a committee is a team effort, and your participation matters—two unexcused absences may result in removal.
Most committees meet for about an hour each month, with a few exceptions: the MLS Committee meets as needed (sometimes 3–4 hours), and the Education Committee meets quarterly. Certain committees, like Grievance and Professional Standards, are REALTOR®-only and require specialized training and pre-requisites.
WMLAR Committees
COMMUNITY OUTREACH COMMITTEE- Promote the REALTOR® image in the community through volunteer projects like Adopt a Highway, Habitat for Humanity, Kids’ Food Basket, and more.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE- Plan continuing education courses and professional development workshops to keep members informed and ahead of industry trends.
GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE- Educate members, engage with lawmakers, and advocate for policies that protect private property rights, REALTOR® status, and short-term rental regulations.
MLS COMMITTEE- Maintain the integrity and efficiency of the Multiple Listing Service, review policies, evaluate technology, and address member concerns.
REALTORS® WHO CARE- RWC is the charitable 501(c)(3) arm of the West Michigan Lakeshore Association of REALTORS®. Raise funds to assist members in need and support charitable causes throughout Allegan, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties.
SOCIAL COMMITTEE- Help plan WMLAR’s signature events, including the spring Cornhole Tournament, summer picnic, and winter holiday/installation event.
GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE (REALTORS® ONLY)- Investigate ethics complaints and arbitration requests to determine if a Professional Standards hearing is warranted. Requires at least 2 years as a REALTOR® and specialized training.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS (REALTORS® ONLY)- Hear ethics complaints and arbitration requests. Must have first served on the Grievance Committee and complete advanced training.
With over 1,200 members, we ask that you limit your interest to two committees so more members have the chance to get involved. Committee chairpersons are appointed by the President with Board support.
