About WMLAR
Formed in January 2000 through the merger of the Holland, North Ottawa, and Muskegon REALTOR® associations, WMLAR serves real estate professionals along the West Michigan lakeshore.
As a trade organization, WMLAR supports its members—who, in turn, serve the public. Our mission: “A Lakeshore Association dedicated to the growth of real estate professionals and the future of their communities.”
WMLAR is part of Michigan REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®, the largest real estate trade group in the U.S. Our association is governed by an elected Board of Directors, which sets policy and oversees finances. A full-time CEO manages staff and daily operations.
Our for-profit MLS is governed by the Board and operates as a shareholder in the Michigan Regional Information Center (MichRIC), a regional listing database.
WMLAR also has a nonprofit arm, REALTORS® Who Care, a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1992. Through fundraising, we provide financial assistance to those in need across West Michigan—one of the few REALTOR® associations nationwide with a dedicated charitable foundation.
We advocate for private property rights, fair business practices, and industry growth. Members benefit from education, advocacy, professional standards, networking, and ongoing support.
