Allegan County Pending Sales Stable; Muskegon, Ottawa Counties See Declines
GRAND HAVEN, Mich — Pending home sales across Allegan, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties decreased overall in August, according to data compiled by the West Michigan Lakeshore Association of REALTORS® (WMLAR). The three-county region recorded 566 pending sales, down 7% from the previous year.
While Allegan County remained stable, Muskegon and Ottawa counties experienced a year-over-year decline in pending sales in August.
| County | Pending Sales |
| Allegan | 119 (Stable vs August 2025) |
| Muskegon | 182 (down 17% vs August 2025) |
| Ottawa | 265 (down 2.6% vs August 2025) |
Pending sales are seen as a forward-looking indicator of what might happen in the next 60 days. While not every home transaction ultimately will close, the data show that most do.
The data is drawn from WMLAR’s Multiple Listing Service, the most comprehensive list of properties on the market in the association’s three-county primary service area. The August data suggests a more measured pace of activity heading into the fall market.
