Making a Difference: Volunteer with WMLAR’s Community, Advocacy & Impact Committee
At the West Michigan Lakeshore Association of REALTORS® (WMLAR), we believe in giving back to the communities where we live and work. Our Community, Advocacy & Impact Committee has a full calendar of meaningful volunteer opportunities this spring—and we’re calling on our members to step up and get involved!
Here’s how you can make a difference in the coming weeks:
🛣️ April 10: Adopt-A-Highway (Two Locations)
We’re hitting the road—literally! Help us beautify our local roadways by volunteering for one of two Adopt-a-Highway clean-up crews. A couple of hours of your time goes a long way toward keeping our communities clean and safe.
🏠 April 29 & 30: Habitat for Humanity Build – Holland (Grand Haven is cancelled as of 4/22/25)
Roll up your sleeves and help a local family achieve the dream of homeownership. No construction experience? No problem! Habitat for Humanity provides all the tools, training, and guidance you’ll need on site.
🩸 May 10: Blood Drive at Spring Lake Middle School
Our spring blood drive is a partnership with Versiti Blood Center of Michigan. Just one donation can save up to three lives. Whether you give blood or help greet and check in donors, your support is needed.
🦺 Now through June 15: Lifejacket Drive
Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death for kids. We’re collecting new and gently used lifejackets for local organizations that serve children and families. Drop off your donations at the WMLAR office through June 15.
How to Get Involved
We’d love to see you at one (or more!) of these events. To sign up or learn more, please reach out to Committee Chair Rob Way at 616-262-9155 or visit our members-only closed Facebook group for updates, sign-up links, and more.
Let’s show our communities what REALTORS® can do—together!
