Protect Your Transactions: Stay Current with Updated WMLAR Forms

If you’re a member of the West Michigan Lakeshore Association of REALTORS (WMLAR), it’s essential to know where to find the forms you need and ensure you’re using the most current versions. The majority of regular forms used by WMLAR members are available in the ‘West Michigan Regional’, ‘West Michigan Lakeshore’, ‘Michigan State Forms’, and/or ‘MICHRIC’ libraries on platforms like DotLoop and Ziplogix.

Outdated Forms: A Growing Concern
During recent MLS compliance checks, we’ve noticed an alarming trend: many forms, including listing agreements, seller’s disclosures, and lead based paint disclosures, are over 20 years old. Using outdated forms can lead to state law compliance issues and potentially jeopardize transactions.

The West Michigan Regional Forms Group
The ‘West Michigan Regional’ library is managed by the West Michigan Regional Forms Group. This group includes representatives from:

  • West Michigan Lakeshore Association of REALTORS (WMLAR)
  • Greater Regional Alliance of REALTORS (GRAR)
  • Greater Kalamazoo Association of REALTORS (GKAR)
  • Mason, Oceana, Manistee Board of REALTORS (MOM BOARD)
  • Montcalm County Association of REALTORS (MCAR)
  • Southwestern Michigan Association of REALTORS (SWMAR)
  • Central Association of REALTORS (WCAOR)

These representatives meet as needed to ensure that the forms stay up to date with real estate industry trends, thereby protecting both licensees and consumers.

Preparing for Big Changes
With significant changes on the horizon due to recent settlements, using the latest forms is more critical than ever. We strongly urge you to review your documents and verify that you are using the most recent versions. This proactive step will help you stay compliant and safeguard your transactions.

Stay informed and diligent in maintaining up to date documentation. Your attention to this matter not only protects your professional practice but also ensures a smooth experience for your clients.
