Consumers see increases in homes on the market;
median prices continue to increase

WEST MICHIGAN, Mich. — Active residential listings increased in Allegan, Ottawa and Muskegon counties in June 2026, while sales remained stable year over year, according to data compiled by the West Michigan Lakeshore Association of REALTORS®.

Total dollar volume rose 12% to $257 million from the year prior, while the median sale price increased 18% to $400,000 across Allegan, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties. The data is drawn from WMLAR’s multiple listing service, the region’s most comprehensive database of properties listed for sale.

Inventory also expanded, with active listings up 8.5% to 997, giving buyers more options.

Homes spent more time on the market in parts of the area, with the average days on market for a residential property rising 35% to 27 days. Sales saw slight growth from 2025, rising 0.2% to 571.

“Strong price growth and increased dollar volume show that demand has not slowed down,” said WMLAR CEO Jon Broadbooks. “At the same time, rising inventories will help consumers competitively seeking their next home.”
