WMLAR’s inaugural Leadership Academy is designed to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of leaders in real estate, business, and community engagement. This free program offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills that extend beyond Association involvement—whether in brokerage management, business growth, or community leadership.
Through expert-led workshops, interactive sessions, and exclusive networking opportunities, participants will gain valuable insights into strategic planning, effective communication, advocacy, and more. The program runs from March through September and concludes with a graduation ceremony at WMLAR’s Annual Business Meeting.
Session Dates & Topics
The academy kicks off on March 19 with a deep dive into leadership fundamentals, featuring an interactive icebreaker and a workshop on leadership styles and strengths.
On April 23, the focus shifts to communication, covering active listening, conflict resolution, and time management. Participants will explore strategies for navigating conversations and managing professional relationships.
May 14 is all about strategic leadership, with a panel discussion on effective planning, an in-depth workshop on applying strategic principles, and training on meeting procedures and organizational guidelines.
Staying ahead of industry trends is the theme for June 25, where experts will discuss local and state market trends, as well as emerging MLS technologies.
Advocacy in leadership takes center stage on August 27, highlighting the importance of political engagement, advocacy, and leadership beyond real estate. A panel of local elected officials will offer insights into community leadership.
The final session on September 16 explores the legacy of leadership, featuring discussions on long-term impact and a celebration of the journey participants have taken throughout the program.
The academy concludes on September 17 with a graduation ceremony at WMLAR’s Annual Business Meeting, where participants will be recognized for their commitment to leadership development.
